Cheat Sheet for PowerPoint – Citing Pictures

Sites to go to:

  1. pexels.com (high quality, small selection, no citing)
  2. pixabay.com (Big selection, mediocre selection, no citing)
  3. creativecommons.org (Has flickr and Wikimedia which are useful)
  4. Check Wikipedia
  • Search for desired picture
  • Click it and then click More details
  • Scroll down and see if it is in Public Domain
  • If it is, no citation needed, if it’s not and needs citing, cite the Author which is given
  • Right click and download, remember where you put it
  1. photodune.com (Great for business photos & some concept words, no citing)
  2. lightstock.com (Great for Christian photos, no citing)
  3. freebibleimages.org (Good for bible cartoon pictures, needs citing)

For pictures that need buying (photodune, lightstock) put the link, slide number, and lesson that it belongs to on a word document and make sure to let James know

To cite use 8pt, white or black font, depending on picture color, to make visible

Tips and Tricks

If you can’t find a similar picture/same concept follow the steps below:

  1. Right click on desired photo and click Save As Picture
  2. Go to images.google.com
  3. Click the camera and Upload the desired picture
  4. Click the picture that comes up or Visually Similar Images

To ever remove a hyperlink (usually appears orange and underlined)

  1. Right click
  2. Select remove hyperlink

If there is a picture that is just a bunch of text, type it out

The username: 3dman_eu on Pixabay has a lot of 3d white guys that appear a lot
