Getting set up
The first step is you want to make sure all your Word Documents have the target language in them, and in one column. When opening them up they should look something like this.

After this, make sure you have them organized into a Docs folder under your current language. Also go ahead and create a new folder called Srt.

You will be uploading translated Word Document files to Ooona to convert them into the .srt format and then will save them back into the srt folder.
Converting with Ooona Translate Pro
Go to ooonatools.tv and log in. (Ask Steven or Paola for the log in information). Once logged in click the Translate Pro icon.

Once in select the project title that corresponds with your current translation project or create a new one.

Go to Import/Export and go down to Import target file to import the .docx file. Then navigate to your Docs folder under your current language. Find the file you need to convert and import it into Ooona.

Next when you click import you will see this dialogue box. Choose, number 1.

If you don’t have the import language set correctly, that’s ok the system will guess and give you a dialogue box letting you know it guess the language.
Once the document loads you will see the text in the right hand column. From there you can export it back out to an .srt file by going up to the Import/Export setting and clicking Export. From there you will see this pop up.

Most likely you will be using the Last used export settings. But just in case the main thing to make sure is the following are set.
- Format is set to .srt
- Frame rate is 29.97
Once you click Export you will probably see this dialog box if you have any empty cells. Click no and continue.

Ooona will download a file to your computers downloads folder called ACSNew.srt. You will need to rename this to the video titles name with – at the end, as well as a two letter appreciation for the language it is in. So for example a Spanish subtitle would be: Module1_Lesson1-es.srt.
Once you are all done you are ready to upload the subtitle file to Vimeo or Youtube or to be re-imported back into your video editing program for an hard burn in export.
